Information and Conditions of Play
The schedule details the times for the Junior Gold Buttons for the 2007 / 2008 season. You will note that all matches are scheduled for Sunday and will be played, wherever possible, on a neutral course. Tee times will be booked and the team Captain, or other designated person, of the team holding the buttons and the challengers, will be advised of the course to be played and the time of play.

Again this year we will provide prizes for the first two teams with the most wins. As this is a gross event, and the matches are intended to provide competition for our better players over the winter months, a suggested method of player selection is by the order in which they stand on the 2007 Zone Junior Order of Merit.

Conditions of Play
RCGA Rules of Golf are in effect. As the weather deteriorates golf courses will revert to Preferred Lies and Winter Rules. The committee adopts the recommended procedures for “Preferred Lies” reference RCGA Rules of Golf Appendix 1 Part B: para 3b, page 107 – 108. Players are advised to review the recommended procedures.

Format - Four Ball Match Play - two play their better ball against the better ball of the two other players. Participants are advised to review the RCGA Rules of Golf Rule 2 & 30. A player may only represent one golf club in any given year. The rotation of challengers is indicated on the published schedule. A loosing team drops to the bottom of the rotation. Matches must be played to secure and record a victory. Note: The schedule is firm. Golf clubs who are unable to field a team for any scheduled match will be removed from the schedule for the remainder of the schedule. Defaults, or cancellations other than course closure are not permitted. This schedule will be altered to accommodate the date of the annual zone 5 / zone 6 “Ryder Cup match play” event The club with the most points at year-end is the winner. A tie will be decided by play-off at a neutral club.

This must be done as soon as possible after each match, in order for the results to be recorded on the zone web site and reported to the Times Colonist for publication, and  to enable tee times to be booked for the following weeks match. Failure to report results by the Monday following the match, will result in the winning team not being credited with a win in the year’s final total.
